“The Count of Monte Cristo”. What is Story of Monte Cristo all about.

One of the most celebrated stories of French literature is “The Count of Monte Cristo” by Alexandre Dumas.

The story follows the journey of a young man named Edmond Dantès, who is falsely accused of treason and imprisoned in the Château d’If, a fortress off the coast of Marseille. While in prison, he meets another inmate who teaches him many things, including the location of a hidden treasure on the island of Monte Cristo.

Dive into Chinese Literature

One of the most famous Chinese stories is “The Monkey King” or “Journey to the West,” a classic tale of adventure, bravery, and self-discovery.

The story follows the journey of a mischievous monkey named Sun Wukong, who is granted magical powers and becomes a formidable warrior. He sets out on a quest to seek immortality and, along the way, encounters various challenges and enemies.

Sun Wukong’s journey brings him to the attention of the Jade Emperor, ruler of heaven, who sends his armies to capture the monkey king. But Sun Wukong is too powerful, and he manages to defeat them all. Finally, the Jade Emperor enlists the help of the Buddha, who captures Sun Wukong and imprisons him under a mountain for 500 years.

During his imprisonment, Sun Wukong reflects on his actions and learns the value of humility and compassion. When he is finally released, he becomes a loyal disciple of the monk Tang Sanzang, who is on a mission to retrieve sacred Buddhist scriptures from India. Along with two other disciples, Pigsy and Sandy, they journey through various trials and tribulations, battling demons and overcoming obstacles, all while learning important lessons about themselves and each other.

The story of “The Monkey King” has been retold and adapted many times in Chinese literature, theater, and film, and has become a beloved part of Chinese culture. It has inspired generations with its messages of bravery, perseverance, and the importance of self-discovery.
